Background
UK King’s Daughters Medical Center has been serving the health care needs of Eastern Kentucky, southern Ohio, and western West Virginia for over 120 years. It became part of the University of Kentucky on December 1, 2022, enhancing access to high-quality care. The Medical Center includes two acute-care hospitals with a total of 465 licensed beds and a network of over 400 physicians and advanced practitioners.

This RFP aims to establish contracts for the purchase of surgical instruments to support its operations.

Work Details
The contract will involve the procurement of surgical instruments necessary for the operations at UK King’s Daughters Medical Center. Offerors must demonstrate their capability to process orders efficiently, including details on order processing via Purchase Orders, nearest office and warehouse locations for manufacturers represented, and confirmation that no minimum order size will be imposed.

Offerors should also outline their return policy, including hassle-free returns within 90 days and no restocking fees for damaged or incorrectly shipped items. Additionally, they must provide evidence of successful performance in similar contracts with other institutions.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence upon award and will continue as specified in the terms outlined in the RFP, with an emphasis on ongoing supply as needed by the Medical Center.

The services will be performed at UK King’s Daughters Medical Center located at 1000 Ashland Drive, Suite 202, Russell, KY 41169.

Bidder Requirements
Offerors must be licensed to do business in Kentucky and provide information regarding any bankruptcy filings or lawsuits. They should also demonstrate compliance with sustainability practices and indicate if they are a minority-owned or woman-owned business.

Additionally, offerors must register with PaymentWorks for vendor onboarding as a condition of award.
