Shawnee Park Outdoor Learning Center

Background
The Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government, through its Parks and Recreation department, is soliciting bids for the construction of a new Outdoor Learning Center at Shawnee Park. This initiative aims to foster inclusive, educational, and community-focused outdoor programming, ensuring accessibility for visitors of all ages and abilities.

Work Details
The scope of work encompasses all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary for the complete construction of the Outdoor Learning Center. Specific tasks include:

- Site preparation and earthwork
- Installation of utility connections (water, sewer, electrical, data)
- Concrete foundations and flatwork
- Structural framing
- Roofing systems
- Exterior and interior walls
- Windows and doors
- Interior finishes such as flooring and carpentry

Additionally, the project will involve mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems; masonry work; accessibility features compliant with ADA standards; and coordination with Louisville Parks and Recreation throughout construction. All work must adhere to local, state, and federal codes.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence upon award and will continue until the completion of the project as determined by the terms outlined in the contract documents.

Place of Performance
The construction will take place at Shawnee Park located at 4501 West Broadway, Louisville, Kentucky 40211.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be registered with the Louisville Metro Revenue Commission and have all required taxes paid. The proposal must include compliance with affirmative action requirements related to employment opportunities for all citizens without regard to race or other factors. Bidders are also required to submit a list of proposed subcontractors for principal portions of the work.
