Background
The Commonwealth of Kentucky, through its Finance and Administration Cabinet, Department for Facilities & Support Services, is seeking an Architect/Engineer (A/E) to provide architectural and engineering services for a project in Frankfort, Kentucky.
The project aims to develop and construct facilities that meet the needs of the Using Agency while adhering to the Owner's budget and procurement methods. The A/E will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, codes, and regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
Work Details
The A/E will provide a range of services including:
1) Schematic Design - preparing drawings and specifications that define the style and type of structure;
2) Design Development - creating detailed drawings and specifications showing site plans, utilities, floor plans, elevations, sections, structural systems;
3) Contract Documents - preparing complete working drawings and specifications for construction;
4) Construction Administration - overseeing the construction process to ensure compliance with contract documents.
The A/E must also assist in obtaining necessary permits and approvals from governmental authorities. Additional services may include LEED certification processes if applicable.
Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon execution of the agreement and will continue through all phases of design and construction as outlined in the project schedule. Specific timeframes for each phase will be established upon agreement.
Place of Performance
The primary location for performance of this contract is Frankfort, Kentucky.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be licensed architects or engineers qualified to practice in Kentucky. They are required to maintain all necessary licenses and permits throughout the duration of the project.
The A/E must also comply with the Owner’s Procedures Manual and utilize the Owner’s Document Collaboration System for all official correspondence.
