RFB-225-25 MA for Dredging of KY River Locks 1 - 5

Background
The Kentucky River Authority is issuing a Request for Bid No. RFB-225-25 for maintenance and dredging services at Kentucky River Locks 1 through 5. The goal of this contract is to ensure navigational safety and operational efficiency by removing sediment and obstructions from the lock chambers and their approaches.

Work Details
The project involves dredging portions of the lock chambers at Kentucky River Locks 1 through 5, including approximately 150 feet of the approach to each lock on both upstream and downstream sides. The work includes dredging and snagging of obstructions in the navigational channel as directed by the Authority.

An air compressor and accessories will be required for sediment removal around the lock doors when not accessible by clamshell. The bid schedule includes items such as mobilization, travel time, crane time, compressor time, and downtime with specified estimated quantities.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to be completed within the timeframe specified in the bid documents.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Kentucky River Locks 1 through 5, located along the Kentucky River.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be registered in the Commonwealth eProcurement System via Vendor Self Service (VSS). They are required to submit a bid guarantee of not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid amount. Bidders must also comply with all applicable Kentucky laws regarding workers' compensation insurance and provide documentation supporting their claim of resident bidder status if applicable.
