RFB-207-25 New Boiler & Controls KET MEP Upgrades

Background
The Commonwealth of Kentucky is seeking bids for the replacement of two existing boilers and associated controls at the KET building located at 600 Cooper Drive, Lexington, KY.
The project aims to upgrade the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems to enhance efficiency and compliance with current codes.
The work will be conducted under the supervision of the Division of Engineering and Contract Administration.

Work Details
The contract includes the following services and products:
1. Replacement of two existing boilers with new condensing natural gas boilers.
2. Replacement of four circulation pumps.
3. Installation of emergency stops, flow switches, an acid neutralization tank, condensate piping, a chemical pot feeder tank, a cold water makeup system, natural gas connections, and pressure gauges.
4. All work must comply with the Kentucky Boiler Code, Kentucky Building Code with current revisions, International Mechanical Code, and National Electrical Code.
5. The work schedule requires minimal downtime for the hot water loop, necessitating after-hours weekend construction activities.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence upon award and must be completed by April 24, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the KET building located at 600 Cooper Drive, Lexington, KY.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must submit their proposals electronically through the Commonwealth’s eProcurement system.
All bidders are required to be registered in the Vendor Self Service (VSS) System prior to submission.
Bids will not be accepted via postal carrier or hand delivery.
