RFB-161-25 DJJ-Boyd Facility Upgrades Ashland, Kentucky

Background
The Commonwealth of Kentucky's Department of Juvenile Justice is issuing a Request for Bid (RFB-161-25) for facility upgrades at the Boyd Regional Juvenile Detention Center located in Ashland, Kentucky.
The goal of this contract is to renovate a cell block that has been converted into office space, returning it to an active cell block condition that meets current codes and standards.

Work Details
The project involves several key renovations:
1. Renovation of a designed cell block to meet current codes.
2. Construction of a new CMU partition wall to separate classroom space from the office area.
3. Renovation of the existing shower area to comply with ADA standards, including a new compliant shower and toilet room.
4. Conversion of an existing double cell into two standard-sized cells.
5. Removal of all office finishes and modifications to ceilings as necessary.
6. Installation of a new exhaust unit on the roof.
7. Installation of new security combination plumbing fixtures in the cells and shower area, including water management valves integrated with the existing system.
8. Installation of new floor drains in the dayroom and replacement of existing lighting in cells with LED fixtures.
9. Removal of all small power wiring devices and telecommunications jacks from existing cell spaces.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence upon award and must be completed within a specified timeframe as outlined in the bid documents, with bids due by February 4, 2025.
