RFB-140-25 Campground Improvements Carter Caves State Park

Background
The Commonwealth of Kentucky, through its Department of Parks, is issuing a Request for Bid (RFB-140-25) for campground improvements at Carter Caves State Park located in Olive Hill, Kentucky. The project aims to renovate the existing RV campground and enhance the facilities available to visitors. The goal is to provide improved amenities and infrastructure that align with the park's mission of offering quality recreational experiences.

Work Details
The project involves the renovation of the existing park campground, which includes:
- Demolition and reconstruction of a new 3,500 sq. ft. camp store and bathhouse.
- Construction materials will include insulated concrete forms, a concrete roof for inclement weather protection, wood trusses, and a standing seam metal roof.
- Exterior finishes will feature a 4’ high cut limestone wainscot with a cut stone sill and composite wood siding.
- Installation of new plumbing and HVAC systems.
- Renovations will include new waterlines and frost-free spigots, new electrical lines with pedestals at each campsite, and select sites will have new sewer hookups.

A site visit is scheduled for December 5, 2024, at 10:00 AM ET for interested contractors.

Period of Performance
The contract period is expected to commence upon award and extend until all work is completed satisfactorily as per the specifications outlined in the bid documents.
