Investigative Services

Background
The Commonwealth of Kentucky, through the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Occupational Therapy, is seeking qualified individuals and organizations to provide investigative services. This initiative is authorized under KRS 319A.070, which allows the Board to investigate allegations of wrongdoing based on complaints or its own volition. The goal is to ensure compliance with licensure laws and to assist in determining whether disciplinary actions should be initiated against licensed occupational therapists and assistants.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for a variety of investigative tasks, including:

1) Interviewing complainants, licensees, and witnesses; interviews may need to be recorded.

2) Obtaining and reviewing relevant documents such as medical, business, and insurance records related to complaints.

3) Inspecting court records and documents.

4) Submitting written investigative reports detailing the investigation process and findings.

5) Compiling case files for presentation to the Board and its subcommittee.

6) Collaborating with Board Counsel on pending litigation as needed.

7) Being prepared to testify in administrative hearings if required.

8) Interpreting licensure laws administered by the Board.

9) Including citations for potential statutory violations in reports.

10) Providing status reports prior to Complaints Committee meetings.

11) Attending subcommittee or board meetings upon request.

Period of Performance
The contract is anticipated to commence on July 1, 2025, and will run through June 30, 2026, with options for renewal for up to two additional two-year periods.

Place of Performance
Investigative services will be performed throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
