Investigative Services

Background
The Commonwealth of Kentucky, through the Kentucky Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, is seeking to fulfill its statutory obligation under KRS Chapter 334A.010-990 to conduct investigations of licensed Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists, as well as unlicensed individuals.

This Request for Proposals (RFP) aims to engage qualified individuals or organizations to provide investigative services in response to complaints received by the Board.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing investigative services which include:
- Interviewing complainants, licensees, and witnesses (with recordings if requested).
- Reviewing documents related to complaints.
- Inspecting court records.
- Submitting written investigative reports detailing the investigation process.
- Compiling case files for Board review.
- Collaborating with Board Counsel on litigation matters.
- Providing testimony at administrative hearings.
- Interpreting licensure laws relevant to the investigations, including citations for potential violations in reports.
- Submitting monthly status reports on ongoing investigations.
- Attending Board meetings when requested.
- Ensuring timely communication with Department of Professional Licensing staff.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence on January 2, 2025, and will run through June 30, 2026. There is an option for renewal for up to two additional two-year periods, subject to approval.

Place of Performance
Investigative services will be performed throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky, as required by the nature of the investigations.
