Description

FW-003-25 - FILO - Rolling Fork WMA Stream & Wetland
Background
The Commonwealth of Kentucky, through the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, is issuing this solicitation for the FILO - Rolling Fork WMA Stream & Wetland project.

The goal of this contract is to restore and enhance the Stillwell Branch Stream within the Rolling Fork Wildlife Management Area in Larue County, Kentucky. This project aims to improve ecological health by rehabilitating stream channels and establishing a forested riparian corridor.

Work Details
The project involves the re-establishment, rehabilitation, and enhancement of approximately 44,544 linear feet of streams tributary to the Rolling Fork River. Specific tasks include:
- Reshaping existing channels;
- Establishing new channels with stable dimensions;
- Constructing in-stream structures;
- Preparing soil for seeding;
- Native planting and seeding;
- Installing erosion control fabric and mulch;
- Harvesting, transporting, installing, and maintaining live stake and vegetative materials.

The restoration will include:
- Re-establishment of ~19,809 feet of channel;
- Rehabilitation of ~12,947 feet of channel;
- Enhancement of 289 feet of channel with equipment;
- Rehabilitation of ~10,868 feet by handwork;
- Construction of various in-stream structures such as armored riffle crossings, rock/log riffles, buried rock grade control, log vanes, bio-engineered armoring;
- Establishment of vegetation along stream banks.

Period of Performance
The solicitation was issued on November 15, 2024, with bids closing on November 14, 2024. The record date for the project is January 14, 2025.

The work will be performed at the Rolling Fork Wildlife Management Area located off Scott Road in Larue County, Kentucky.
