FW-002-25 - Rebid -FW-006-24 -Ballard Big River Pump Station

Background
The Commonwealth of Kentucky, through the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, is issuing this solicitation for the construction of a new pump station at the northern end of Ballard Wildlife Management Area.

This project aims to provide a critical water source for managed wetlands at Ballard WMA, enhancing ecological management and habitat sustainability.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for constructing a new pump station that will pull water from the Ohio River and deliver it to Shelby Lake at an estimated rate of 30,000 gallons per minute (gpm).

The scope of work includes:
- Installation of an intake on the Ohio River
- Piping to a cast-in-place concrete pump station
- Distribution piping to the outlet in Shelby Lake
- Installation of three submersible pumps
- Construction of an electrical/controls tower
- Road building and stream crossing culvert construction
- Installation of new power lines.

Additionally, the contractor must manage clearing and grubbing debris, with options for habitat mounds as specified.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence upon award and is anticipated to be completed within a specified timeframe that will be detailed in subsequent project documents.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Ballard Wildlife Management Area located in La Center, Kentucky.
