Background
The Commonwealth of Kentucky is issuing a Request for Bid (RFB) for equipment rental with operators to support the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) projects. The goal of this contract is to provide necessary earth-moving equipment and operators for various construction and maintenance tasks within District 2, primarily around Madisonville, KY. The equipment will be used on an as-needed basis, and the vendor must ensure that all equipment is in excellent working condition and complies with state regulations.
Work Details
The contractor will provide the following equipment with operators:
1. Excavator with Bucket and Grapple - 50 hours
- Minimum 145 HP, equipped with a dirt and rock bucket or grapple attachment.
2. Excavator with Hammer - 25 hours
- Minimum 145 HP, equipped with hoe-ram/rock hammer/impact breaker (minimum 5000 ft/lbf).
3. Excavator with Long Reach Boom - 50 hours
- Minimum 150 HP, equipped with a minimum 60 ft long reach boom and 1 CY bucket.
4. Tandem Dump Truck - 25 hours
- Minimum tandem axle with a minimum 15 CY capacity bed.
5. Small Dozer/Crawler - 25 hours
- Minimum 80 HP equipped with an angle/tilt corner cutting blade.
6. Large Dozer/Crawler - 25 hours
- Minimum 125 HP equipped with an angle/tilt corner cutting blade.
7. Skid Steer Loader - 25 hours
- Equipped with tracks and attachments including bucket, forks, grapple, and milling.
8. Light Plant - 25 hours
- Minimum of 4 lights extending at least 30 feet from ground level.
9. Grinding Attachment - 10 hours
- Minimum of 4-foot working width for grinding bushes and trees up to 5 inches in diameter.
10. Motor Grader - 25 hours
- Minimum of 125 HP equipped with a minimum 12-foot mold board.
11. Escort Truck - 25 hours
- Minimum of a 3/4 ton, equipped with flashing safety lights for following motor graders during snow and ice events.
12. Wheeled Loader - 25 hours
- Articulating style loader with a minimum of a 3.5 CY bucket.
Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and will remain effective until February 13, 2025, unless extended or terminated earlier as per the terms outlined in the solicitation.
Place of Performance
The services will primarily be performed within District 2 of Kentucky, which includes counties such as Caldwell, Christian, Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, Hopkins, McLean, Muhlenberg, Ohio, Union, and Webster.
