Background
The City of Henderson, Kentucky, is soliciting competitive sealed bids for cement concrete to be used on various city projects. This includes work under the authority of the City, such as streets, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and buildings. The goal of this contract is to ensure the provision of quality cement concrete that meets specified standards for city infrastructure projects.
Work Details
The contractor will provide various types of cement concrete as follows:
A. 28 Day 3500 PSI Cement Concrete - 40 cubic yards (Class A/Type 1, Fly ash - Stone)
B. 28 Day 4000 PSI Cement Concrete - 450 cubic yards (Class A/Type 1, S/C - Stone)
C. 3 Day 4000 PSI Cement Concrete - 50 cubic yards (Class AA/Type 1, Fly ash - Stone)
D. 1 Day 4000 PSI Cement Concrete - 900 cubic yards (Class M/Type 1, S/C - Stone)
E. Curb Machine Concrete - 60 cubic yards (Class A/Type 1, Curb, Fly ash – Stone)
F. Non-Structural Control Density Fill - 80 cubic yards (Flowable Fill for Pipe Backfill)
G. Structural Control Density Fill - 40 cubic yards (Flowable Fill for Bridge End Bent Backfill)
H. Minimum Load Charge for loads under 20 cubic yards - $4 per load.
The concrete mix must comply with Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Standard Specifications for Roads and Bridges and must be delivered within two hours upon request by the City or its Contractor.
Period of Performance
The contract will be effective upon approval by the City of Henderson Board of Commissioners and will last until March 31, 2027. It may be extended for one or two additional one-year periods through March 31, 2028 and March 31, 2029 if both parties agree.
Place of Performance
The work will be performed within the geographic boundaries of the City of Henderson, Kentucky.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must obtain a City of Henderson Occupational License and Contractor Registration prior to approval by the Board of Commissioners. Additionally, bidders are required to maintain specific insurance coverage including General Liability ($1 million each occurrence), Automobile Liability ($1 million), Umbrella Insurance ($2 million), and Workers Compensation as per statute. The City must be listed as an Additional Insured.
