Background
The University of Kentucky is issuing this solicitation for the construction of the CAER Outreach & Education Center. This project aims to support the mission of the UK Center for Applied Energy Research by enhancing educational outreach and providing a facility for meetings and conferences.

The structure will feature Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) walls and a structural steel roof on a slab-on-grade with an SBS modified roof. Exterior finishes will consist of brick veneer and metal panels. The HVAC system will be supplied by a geo-thermal loop system. Site improvements will include new parking, a new plaza, and outdoor space for a conference room. The building is expected to achieve LEED Silver certification.
Period of Performance
The contract period for substantial completion is set at 365 consecutive calendar days from the date of commencement specified in the Notice to Proceed. Final completion is required 30 consecutive calendar days thereafter.
Place of Performance
The construction will take place at the University of Kentucky's campus in Lexington, Kentucky.
Bidder Requirements
Bids must be submitted by Prime Contractors on a Lump Sum basis. All bids must include a bid guarantee of at least 5% of the base bid amount. A 100% Performance Bond and 100% Payment Bond are required from the successful bidder as conditions of the contract.
