Sedgwick County, located in south-central Kansas, is the second most populous of Kansas’ 105 counties, with a population of 525,525 as per 2022 U.S. Census estimates. The county seeks to contract with qualified temporary staffing agencies to provide temporary medical staff services to support ongoing and emergent public health needs.
The goal of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to identify firms that offer the best overall value based on qualifications, responsiveness, past performance, and ability to meet staffing demands efficiently. This RFP aims to secure personnel capable of supporting clinic and community-based operations, including vaccination administration and patient assessment education.
Work Details
The selected firm(s) will provide Temporary Medical Staffing Services which include:
1. Providing resumes and license/certification information for review before drug screening.
2. Ensuring candidates have valid driver’s licenses and automobile insurance for driving positions.
3. Collecting immunization records, TB screening test results, and respiratory mask fit testing results prior to employment.
4. Conducting required background checks including motor vehicle reports for driving positions and criminal background checks for all positions.
5. Providing proof of passing drug screens within two months prior to employment.
6. Supplying contact information for hired staff at least one business day before their start date.
7. Ensuring compliance with minimum qualifications for the positions filled.
8. Providing typing/computer entry testing scores for data entry positions (minimum 45 words per minute).
9. Fulfilling staffing requests within two business days.
10. Not charging Sedgwick County for employees terminated within the first three days of work.
Period of Performance
The contract period will begin following Board of County Commissioners approval and will last for one year with three one-year options to renew.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed in various locations throughout Sedgwick County, Kansas.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have a minimum of two years’ experience in providing similar services, comply with applicable laws and regulations, possess necessary insurances as outlined in the RFP including liability insurance with specific coverage amounts, and demonstrate capacity to manage staffing effectively.
