Seven (7) CIP Design Projects

Background
The City of Wichita, the largest city in Kansas with a population of approximately 397,000, is seeking qualification proposals from firms for design services for the Engineering Division of Public Works & Utilities Department. The mission of the City is to keep Wichita safe, grow the economy, build dependable infrastructure, and provide conditions for living well. The goal of this contract is to obtain consulting engineering services for seven Capital Improvement Program (CIP) design projects aimed at improving transportation infrastructure.

Work Details
The contract involves design services for seven CIP projects:

1. Arterial street reconstruction on 13th Street North from Ridge to Country Acres Avenue;
2. Arterial street reconstruction on 13th Street North from Webb Road to Gatewood Street;
3. Pawnee Avenue improvement from Greenwich Road to 127th Street East;
4. Bridge reconstruction at Mosley Avenue over Chisholm Creek;
5. Intersection signalization at Ridge Road and 34th Street North;
6. Geometric and traffic improvements at Kellogg Avenue and Seneca Street Interchange;
7. Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) & ADA improvements along specified corridors.

Each project will require detailed design concepts, including evaluations of lane configurations, utility relocations, pedestrian pathways, traffic analyses, and coordination with local schools and neighborhoods. Specific deadlines for design concepts and estimates are outlined for each project.

Period of Performance
The contract period will be negotiated prior to execution but includes specific deadlines for each project's design phases ranging from November 2026 to March 2028.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed in various locations within the City of Wichita, Kansas.

Bidder Requirements
Firms must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in providing similar services. They must be registered with the Kansas Secretary of State’s Office before contract execution. Additionally, firms are encouraged to include participation from small & emerging businesses in their proposals.
