Description

Sedgwick County Department of Aging & Disabilities - CDDO Intellectual and Development Disability Programs (State Aid)
Background
Sedgwick County, located in south-central Kansas, is one of the most populous counties in the state. Its mission is to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to receive quality services and achieve greater independence. The Sedgwick County Developmental Disability Organization (SCDDO) oversees the service system for IDD in Sedgwick County and is allocating up to $518,000.00 of state aid funds for targeted service areas identified as a priority by community stakeholders. The SCDDO seeks proposals from affiliated IDD service providers for projects that meet specific service definitions outlined by the State of Kansas.

Work Details
The contract will involve providing various services under the CDDO Intellectual and Development Disability Programs (State Aid), including but not limited to:
1. Attendant Care – I/DD Adult: Individualized personal care for adults ensuring health and welfare.
2. Attendant Care – I/DD Adult (Group): Group personal care for adults in community settings.
3. Attendant Care – Children: Individualized personal care for children ensuring health and welfare.
4. Education to Employment Transition: Activities supporting individuals transitioning from school to competitive employment.
5. Supported Employment: Competitive work with ongoing support services for individuals with IDD.
6. Respite Care – Children: Temporary relief for primary caregivers of children under 17 years old.
7. Respite Care – I/DD Adult: Temporary relief for primary caregivers of adults 18 years or older.
8. Transportation Stipends: Financial assistance for transportation costs related to employment or community inclusion.
9. Infant/Toddler Subsidy: Financial assistance for screenings and early intervention services.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence on July 1, 2025, with an initial term of one year and options for three additional one-year renewals.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed within Sedgwick County, Kansas.

Bidder Requirements
Proposers must be agencies affiliated with SCDDO providing IDD services in Sedgwick County. They must demonstrate knowledge and experience in serving individuals with IDD, provide recent financial audits or statements, ensure grant funds are not used to supplant existing resources, submit monthly invoices by the 15th day of the month following service provision, and comply with all relevant federal, state, and county contract provisions.
