Phase 2 Stadium Network & Wi-Fi System RFP

Background
The University of Kansas (KU) is seeking proposals from qualified vendors for the installation of a comprehensive network and Wi-Fi system at the newly renovated David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, KS. The goal is to enhance the overall fan experience by providing reliable and high-speed internet connectivity throughout the stadium, supporting services such as mobile ticketing, live streaming, and interactive fan engagement. This project is part of the KU Gateway development, which includes various assets like stadium expansion and new construction.

Work Details
The project involves the design and installation of a robust network and Wi-Fi infrastructure for an approximately 42,000-seat outdoor football stadium. Key components include:

1. **Document Review**: Comprehensive review of design and construction documents.

2. **Design**: Develop a detailed network and Wi-Fi system design that meets capacity and coverage needs.
- The switched network will utilize HPE/Aruba switching, controllers, and access points.
- Redundant uplink to KU aggregation switching with a minimum of 5Gbps per port.
- Minimum 1Gbps per port to end users using Category 6A cabling.
- Robust network security posture in coordination with KU IT.

3. **Wi-Fi Network**: Service bowl seating, suite areas, concourses, back of house areas, and entry points with a minimum throughput of 10Mbps per connected device at a maximum ratio of 125 devices per access point.

4. **Equipment Bill of Materials Delivery**: Provide a complete Bill of Materials (BOM) for review.

5. **Installation**: Execute installation including core drilling where necessary and configuration for optimal performance.

6. **Testing and Quality Assurance**: Conduct thorough testing using industry-standard methods to ensure reliability.

7. **Documentation**: Provide comprehensive documentation including network diagrams and user guides.

8. **Training**: Train KU staff on operation and maintenance of the installed system.

Period of Performance
The contract period extends through project completion with the system expected to be operational by the 2027 NCAA football season.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium located in Lawrence, KS.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with all local regulations and provide necessary certifications including a State of Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate if applicable. They should also demonstrate experience in similar projects within higher education settings.
