Partial Reroof Larned State Hospital

Background
The Larned State Hospital, part of the Kansas Department of Administration, is seeking bids for a partial reroof of the Clothing Supply Building. This project aims to enhance the facility's infrastructure and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Work Details
The project involves removing the entire roof system down to the existing structural metal deck and installing a 60 mil single-ply thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) fleece-backed sheet membrane. This will be fully adhered to a coverboard, which is a ½” isogard hd coverboard mechanically attached over tapered polyisocyanurate rigid insulation board (approximately 2 ½” starting with a ¼” per foot slope) over a vapor barrier on the existing structural metal deck.

New perimeter wood blocking, cap/coping flashings, and other components as indicated in the drawings must also be installed. The roofing materials must comply with FMG 4450 and FMG 4470 requirements for Class 1 or noncombustible construction. The roof must be designed to withstand wind speeds of up to 100 mph and have hail resistance classified as SH.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must submit a bid guaranty of 5% of the total bid amount in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or bond payable to the State of Kansas. A performance bond equal to 100% of the contract price is also required upon award.

Bidders must provide proof of insurance including Worker's Compensation, Public Liability, and Property Damage Insurance. Additionally, bidders are required to obtain a current Tax Clearance Certificate from the Kansas Department of Revenue.
