Background
The Larned State Correctional Facility, part of the Kansas Department of Corrections, is seeking proposals for the construction of a firing range. This initiative aims to enhance training facilities for law enforcement and correctional personnel. Work Details
The scope of work includes:
- Construction of a firing range area measuring 200 feet by 400 feet, along with a parking lot sized 200 feet by 100 feet.
- Moving dirt on the facility grounds to create the firing range.
- Removal of existing topsoil and weeds, ensuring that lower layers are fused together to prevent erosion and maintain the integrity of the berm being built.
- Grading and compacting dirt as necessary to ensure proper slope and drainage.
- Completion of all dirt work by April 5, 2026.
- A minimum one-year warranty on workmanship and materials is required, with no subcontracting allowed.

Bidders must demonstrate a robust safety program and provide insurance documents, including workers' compensation for all employees involved in the project.
