Beaumont Rest Area Flooring Repair

Background
The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) is seeking bids for flooring repairs at the Beaumont Rest Area. The goal of this contract is to address issues such as cracks and pitting in the flooring, ensuring a safe and functional environment for travelers. The project aims to enhance the overall condition of the rest area, which serves as a critical stop along US-400.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for repairing the flooring at the Beaumont Rest Area located at 71 US-400 Piedmont, KS 67122. The work includes:
- Grinding down previous coats of flooring before applying new epoxy coating.
- Procuring and applying epoxy floor coating and curing with urethane.
- Addressing any cracks and pitting in the existing floor.
- The total area to be repaired is approximately 601.75 square feet with verticals ranging from 3.1” to 6” over a length of 175.98 linear feet.
- The rest area will be closed during the repair work, which must be completed within a couple of weeks after contract award.

Period of Performance
The work is expected to commence shortly after the contract award and must be completed within a couple of weeks.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must obtain a current Tax Clearance Certificate from the Kansas Department of Revenue prior to submitting their bid. Additionally, bidders are required to comply with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA). Bidders must also certify that they are not currently engaged in a boycott of goods or services from Israel as per HB 2482. Furthermore, they must not provide or procure covered telecommunications equipment as defined by Public Law 115-232.
