Wellington Reserve - Structure Repair

Background
The Allen County Surveyor's Office is responsible for the maintenance and repair of regulated drains in the county. This contract aims to address specific structural repairs needed for the Wellington Reserve Drain, identified as Drain #07-32-750, located in Washington Township. The goal is to repair a sinkhole at a specified address, ensuring proper drainage functionality and compliance with local regulations.

Work Details
The contractor will perform the following tasks:

1. Remove the existing 30" x 30" inlet structure at a depth of 8 feet.

2. Install a new Type I-48" manhole, reconnecting existing 18" HDPE dual wall pipe with new pipe.

3. Connect new 18" HDPE dual wall pipe to existing storm pipe using bell and spigot connection and split band couplers.

4. Mortar all pipe connections on both interior and exterior of the new manhole structure.

5. Create a poured, contoured invert within the new manhole.

6. Install new pipe on an 8" bed of INDOT #8 crushed limestone aggregate, backfilling with the same material up to 18" over the storm pipe, while using native material for the remainder of backfill.

7. Ensure finished elevations are RIM:828.61, South INV:821.41, East INV:821.31.

8. Dispose of all debris, trash, and spoils appropriately.

9. Install inlet protection over the new manhole until vegetation is established on disturbed ground, following ACSO seeding specifications with appropriate grass seed, fertilizer, and erosion control mats on disturbed areas.

The contractor is also responsible for restoring all areas disturbed during construction to preconstruction conditions, which may include topsoil replacement and sidewalk repairs.

Period of Performance
The work must be completed by June 7, 2025.

Place of Performance
The contract work will be performed at the rear of 4466 Flanders CT in Wellington Reserve Sec III, Washington Township.

Bidder Requirements
All drain work is subject to approval by the Allen County Surveyor's Office. A 48-hour notification for inspection is required before work can begin.
