SCBA Breathing Air Compressor and Fill Station

Background
Harper College is seeking bids for the installation of a new Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) Breathing Air Compressor and Cascade Fill Station. This system is crucial for the Emergency Services Training Center (ESTC) to ensure safe and compliant training operations for its Fire Science Program and Fire Academy. The contract aims to provide equipment that meets NFPA standards for breathing air quality.

Work Details
The contractor will furnish and deliver a SCBA Breathing Air Compressor rated for a minimum of 6,000 PSI, capable of filling SCBA cylinders up to 5,500 PSI, powered by a 15 HP electric motor. The system must include:

- A carbon monoxide monitoring system
- A two-position SCBA fill station with secure containment
- A four-cylinder cascade storage system with DOT/ISO-approved cylinders

The proposal must cover freight, delivery, installation, certified breathing air quality testing at startup, and training for personnel on system operation and maintenance. All equipment must be new; remanufactured or used equipment is not acceptable. The contractor must also provide ongoing service including annual air quality tests and emergency service response within 72 hours.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to include installation by February 27, 2026.

Place of Performance
The installation will take place at Harper College located at 1200 W. Algonquin Road, Palatine, Illinois.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with the Business Enterprise Program's Participation and Utilization Plan developed by Harper College. There are no specific set-aside certifications required for this contract.
