Roof Replacement

Background
Connect Transit is the primary public transportation provider for the Bloomington-Normal, Illinois area, having provided safe, reliable, and affordable public transportation since 1972. The agency operates sixteen fixed routes and offers various services including a campus shuttle and special curb-to-curb service for eligible individuals under the ADA.

The purpose of this Invitation for Bid (IFB) is to solicit bids from qualified dealers to replace the roof on their administration building.

Work Details
The work includes the tear-off and disposal of existing asphalt shingles, underlayment, and any damaged substrates. A standing seam metal roof will be installed, including all associated hardware to ensure a watertight installation. Specific tasks include:

1) Installation of double lock standing seam metal roofing with a minimum thickness of 24-gauge galvanized steel;
2) Installation of new high-temperature ice and water shield at least 6 feet up from eaves;
3) Installation of synthetic underlayment on remaining substrate;
4) Replacement of all flashing, drip edges, soffits, ridge caps, fascia trim, gutters, and downspouts;
5) Installation of snow guards without penetrating the roof steel if possible;
6) Submission of fabrication/shop drawings prior to installation;
7) Examination of all substrates by the installer and notification of deficiencies;
8) Provision of a minimum 20-year NDL warranty for roof materials and a 5-year warranty for labor.

Period of Performance
The anticipated start date for the project is July 7, 2025. The contract will be structured as a Firm Fixed Price contract with an initial term of 12 months.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Connect Transit's administration building located at 351 Wylie Drive, Normal, Illinois.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have at least two years' experience applying this type of roofing with successful completion of similar projects. They are required to submit examples of three to five similar projects completed within the last three years along with contact information. Bidders must also provide certifications regarding debarment and compliance with Disadvantaged Business Enterprise standards.
