Request for Proposals for Village Hall Installation of Fiberglass Doors

Background
The Village of Northbrook, an Illinois home rule municipal corporation, is seeking proposals from qualified contractors for the installation of fiberglass doors at the Village Hall.

The project aims to enhance the aesthetic and functionality of the facility's entrance by replacing existing wooden doors with new fiberglass doors that feature a woodgrain look and arched frame. The goal is to ensure durability and improve energy efficiency with insulated glass panels.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
1) Removal of two existing wooden doors, frames, and thresholds while minimizing damage to surrounding structures;
2) Installation of two new fiberglass doors with a woodgrain look and arched frame, featuring a 1" insulated arched glass and simulated wood panels at the lower portion;
3) Installation of continuous hinges for smooth operation;
4) Installation of necessary hardware components including door closers, handles, locks (using current key), vertical rods, night latch trim, kick plates, and Von Durpin panic bars;
5) Replacement of the threshold;
6) Ensuring all components are properly aligned and functional;
7) Cleanup of debris each evening before leaving the site. All materials must be new and of commercial quality.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon execution and is expected to be completed by October 31, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Village Hall located at 1225 Cedar Lane, Northbrook, Illinois.

Bidder Requirements
Contractors must provide proof of relevant licenses, certifications, insurance coverage including Worker’s Compensation, General Liability, Professional Liability, and Motor Vehicle Liability.

They must also have a written sexual harassment policy compliant with Illinois law. Additionally, contractors are required to attend a mandatory pre-bid meeting on June 17th, 2025.
