Replacement of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Batteries

Background
The Northeast Illinois Regional Commuter Railroad Corporation, known as Metra, is seeking bids for the replacement of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) batteries. This initiative is part of Metra's commitment to maintaining reliable service and ensuring operational efficiency. The contract aims to procure new batteries for various locations to enhance the reliability of power supply systems critical for operations.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing and installing new NorthStar NSB12-730RT and NSB12-650RT batteries across five specified locations. The contractor must:

1. Install all delivered batteries;
2. Label each battery with the installation month and year;
3. Remove old batteries before installing new ones;
4. Dispose of all old batteries in compliance with state and federal regulations;
5. Only deliver new batteries;
6. Provide a semiannual report detailing all purchased and delivered batteries, warranty replacements, and maintenance recommendations;
7. Understand that the warranty period begins from the installation date.

Period of Performance
The contract performance period will commence upon award and is expected to be completed by June 11, 2026.

Place of Performance
The delivery and installation will occur at five locations in Chicago, IL: Kensington Yard, Ogilvie Transportation Center, LaSalle, Van Buren, and Millennium Station.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with specific requirements including:

- Completion of a Buy America Certificate if applicable;
- Adherence to Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation goals;
- Submission of a signed Contract Signature Page (Exhibit 1-M);
- Compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding labor practices.
