Medical exams for conservation police officer trainee applicants

Background
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) is seeking medical services for Conservation Police Trainee Applicants as part of the hiring process. The goal is to ensure that candidates are physically prepared for the rigorous training and job duties of a Conservation Police Officer (CPO). This procurement supports the hiring process for a new recruit class scheduled to begin training in February 2025.

Work Details
The vendor will conduct comprehensive physical/medical examinations for each applicant, which must include:

- Medical history
- Height and weight measurements
- Vital signs (pulse, respiration, blood pressure, temperature)
- Assessments of skin, ears, eyes, nose, mouth and throat
- Cardiovascular system evaluation
- Respiratory system evaluation (including pulmonary function)
- Gastrointestinal system evaluation
- Genitourinary system evaluation
- Endocrine and metabolic systems evaluation
- Hearing tests (Pure Tone Threshold Testing)
- Vision tests (including visual acuity and other assessments)
- Musculoskeletal system evaluation
- Neurological system evaluation
- Two-view chest X-ray with interpretation
- Complete chemistry panel including liver and kidney function tests
- Thyroid profile including TSH and free T4 index
- Hepatitis profile including Hepatitis B surface antibody titer
- HIV screening
- Complete blood count with differential and platelet count.

Additionally, a 12-Lead resting EKG with interpretation is required. All laboratory and radiologist expenses must be included in the quoted price. The vendor must provide a written report detailing each candidate's medical/physical fitness within seven days of the examination. The vendor must also notify IDNR if additional testing is required for any candidate.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed from October 7, 2024 through October 25, 2024. The vendor must be able to conduct examinations for up to 90 applicants during this period.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at locations designated by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
