Kozminski Academy LBP Mitigation & OM Project Assembly Hall Due 02.12.26 - ONLY PREQUALIFIED POOL Environmental Contractors

Background
The Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is issuing a contract for the Kozminski Academy Lead-Based Paint (LBP) Mitigation and Operations & Maintenance (OM) Project at the Assembly Hall located at 936 E. 54th Street, Chicago, IL. The goal of this contract is to perform environmental mitigation activities to ensure a safe and compliant environment for students and staff by addressing lead-based paint hazards in the facility.

Work Details
The contractor/vendor shall provide a proposal for necessary labor and materials to perform environmental mitigation activities as outlined in the Project Manual dated January 30, 2026, prepared by Carnow, Conibear & Assoc., Ltd. Specific tasks include:

1. Lead-Based Paint Mitigation: Stabilization and removal of lead-based paint from identified areas including walls and ceilings.
2. Asbestos Abatement: Removal of asbestos-containing materials as specified in Section 02 82 14.
3. Indoor Air Quality Controls: Implementation of measures to maintain adequate indoor air quality during construction activities, including dust control and fume management.
4. Compliance with all applicable regulations including IDPH, IEPA, OSHA standards.

Period of Performance
The work is scheduled to commence following the award of the contract with specific timelines for completion to be established in coordination with CPS and the Managing Environmental Consultant (MEC). The bid due date is February 12, 2026.

Place of Performance
The contract work will be performed at Kozminski Elementary Academy located at 936 E. 54th Street, Chicago, IL 60615.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be part of the prequalified pool of environmental contractors. If the bid price exceeds $10,000, bidders must be signatory to relevant unions per project labor agreements. For bids over $75,000, inclusion of MBE/WBE subcontractors and relevant forms is required at the time of bid submission.
