IRCC - Three Year 60 Ton Chiller Rental - JSW

The Illinois Department of Corrections, specifically the Illinois River Correctional Center, is seeking bids for a three-year rental of a 60-ton chiller. This initiative aims to ensure adequate cooling systems are in place for the facility, particularly during the warmer months. The contract is part of the agency's commitment to maintaining operational efficiency and safety within correctional facilities.

Work Details
The vendor is required to supply a 60-ton water chiller for five months each year, from May 1 through September 30, over a three-year period. The chiller must meet specific operational and electrical specifications including:
- Microprocessor control center
- Single point power connection
- Low ambient temperature operation down to -20°F
- High ambient temperature operation up to 125°F
- Various water connection and flow requirements

The vendor must also provide all necessary labor, supplies, licensures, and certifications for delivery and setup. Maintenance and repair responsibilities lie with the vendor during the rental period. Emergency response must be provided within 24 hours if deemed necessary by the facility's Chief Engineer.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on May 1, 2025, and conclude on September 30, 2027.

Bidder Requirements
Vendors must carry property and public liability insurance with specified minimum coverage amounts. They are required to maintain all necessary licensures for operating commercial size chillers. Subcontracting is not permitted under this contract. All vendor employees must undergo background checks as mandated by the Illinois Department of Corrections.
