Invitation to bid Bathroom Remodel Downtown Library

Background
The City of Rock Island is seeking bids from contractors for a rehabilitation project at the Downtown Library Branch located at 401 19th Street, Rock Island. The goal of the contract is to remodel the library's bathrooms while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including ADA standards. The project must be executed while the library remains operational, necessitating careful planning and execution.

Work Details
The contractor will act as the general contractor for the bathroom remodel project and must submit a project plan that adheres to design standards compliant with all applicable regulations. Key tasks include:
- Demolition of first-floor bathrooms.
- Construction of new ADA-compliant paths of egress and installation of ADA fixtures.
- Installation of new filtered drinking and bottle stations, hand dryers, tile floors or similar products for wet areas, floor drains in new bathrooms, storage closet in men's restroom, mop closet in women's restroom, and feminine dispensers in women's restroom.
- Installation of motion sensor lights, automated plumbing fixtures (faucets, urinals, water closets), and automated exhaust fans.
- Creation of an all-gender ADA restroom with grab bars in all restrooms.
- Installation of soap dispensers and lockable toilet paper holders in stalls.
- Tiling or application of durable cleanable surface material on bathroom walls.
- New mirrors over countertops in all three restrooms and needle hazmat dispensers in restrooms.

The contractor must ensure daily cleanup to maintain a safe environment for library patrons during construction.

Period of Performance
The contractor shall have 90 days to complete the work from the date of contract signing.

The work will be performed at the Downtown Rock Island Library Branch located at 401 19th Street, Rock Island.
