Background
The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), Office of Policy Planning and Statistics (OPPS), is seeking offers for procuring an Illinois Adverse Health Care Events Reporting System. The purpose of this system is to comply with the State Statute (410 ILCS 522/) Illinois Adverse Health Care Events Reporting Law of 2005. The vendor should be well-versed in health care safety and quality improvement, familiar with the National Quality Forum Serious Reportable Events, and experienced with healthcare systems operations and adverse events.
Work Details
The vendor is required to provide, operate, and support a web-based reporting and learning system for adverse events. This includes initial event reporting capable of capturing various adverse health care events, event tracking and user editing capabilities, measure of success analysis, report generation, role-based access control design, data extracts for reporting healthcare facilities and for IDPH and its designees, support of shared de-identified events database, provision of preventive strategy recommendations, educational tools, and other technical assistance.
The project will be divided into four phases: system development within the first 120 days of the contract period, data loading and system testing including beta testing of event entry within a 6-month pilot reporting period, system launch within the first 12 months of the contract period, and event analysis and system maintenance.
Period of Performance
The estimated posting date for this solicitation is May 6, 2024. The anticipated contract start date is July 6, 2024. The initial term of the resulting contract will be sixty (60) months with the option to renew for an additional five (5) years.
