Description

Southwestern Illinois Correctional Center seeks vendor(s) for annual hood inspection, cleaning, and repair; quarterly fire alarm and sprinkler system inspection; and a semi-annual ANSUL hood system inspection.
Background
The Southwestern Illinois Correctional Center, part of the Illinois Department of Corrections, is seeking vendors to provide essential safety and maintenance services.
The goal of this contract is to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and maintain the operational integrity of kitchen hood systems within the facility.

Work Details
The vendor will be responsible for the following services:
1. Annual inspection, cleaning, and repair of one double hood and one single hood with two exhaust fans in accordance with NFPA-96 standards.
2. Semi-annual inspections of the ANSUL fire suppression system located in the Dietary kitchen area, which must comply with NFPA regulations and be performed by a certified professional.
Inspections will include checks on distribution piping, nozzle placement, remote pull accessibility, pressure gauge status, cleanliness of hoods and filters, operational status of automatic detection systems, gas fuel supply inspection, cartridge weight verification, and hydrostatic testing dates.
3. Quarterly inspections of sprinkler systems and fire alarms to ensure functionality and compliance with safety standards.
4. All cleaning must remove combustible contaminants from hoods, grease removal devices, fans, ducts, and other related components.

Period of Performance
The contract has an initial term of five years starting from the last dated signature unless otherwise specified.
Specific milestones include:
- First semi-annual inspection scheduled between March 1 and March 31, 2025
- Second semi-annual inspection scheduled between September 1 and September 30, 2025
- Annual kitchen hood cleaning scheduled between March 1 and March 31, 2025
- Quarterly inspections to be completed within three months of each other.

Place of Performance
All services will be performed at the Southwestern Illinois Correctional Center located at 950 N Kingshighway, East St. Louis, IL 62203.
