IDOC - Certified Halal Prepackaged Meals

Background
The Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) is seeking qualified vendors to provide certified Halal prepackaged meals for individuals in custody across all correctional facilities. The goal of this contract is to ensure that the dietary needs of incarcerated individuals are met in accordance with Halal standards.

Work Details
Vendors are required to supply certified Halal prepackaged meals suitable for distribution across various correctional facilities. The meals must meet nutritional guidelines and be compliant with Halal dietary laws. Specific requirements regarding meal types, packaging, and delivery schedules will be detailed in the Request For Proposal (RFP).

Period of Performance

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with the Business Enterprise Program (BEP) and Veterans Business Program (VBP) requirements. This includes submitting a Utilization Plan (U-Plan) that outlines commitments to utilize BEP/VBP certified vendors. Bidders must also demonstrate Good Faith Efforts if they cannot meet participation goals.
