Handheld Radios for Wildland Firefighting

Background
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) is seeking to procure handheld radios and accessories for its Fire Program. The goal of this contract is to enhance communication capabilities for wildland firefighting operations on a national level.

Work Details
The contract involves the purchase of 6 BK BKR9000-T3.5BS Portable Handheld Radios, which are all-band capable with the following specifications:
- 5000 channels
- Front and top display
- Full keypad
- Black housing
- Channel stop

Features include:
- One base frequency
- Wi-Fi
- Bluetooth
- GPS
- Digital CAI operation
- DES & ADP encryption

Each radio comes with a 5-year warranty. Additional items include:
- 12 SURPASS Ultra-high-Capacity Battery Packs (2 per radio), LI-Ion 4900 mAh, IP68.
- 6 SURPASS Desktop Chargers (1 per radio).
- 6 All Band Antennas (1 per radio).
- 1 Cloning Cable for programming radios.

Delivery will be made to the IDNR at their Benton location.

The expected delivery date is March 30, 2026.
