Background
Connect Transit is the primary public transportation provider for the Bloomington-Normal, Illinois area, having provided safe, reliable, and affordable public transportation since 1972. The agency operates sixteen fixed routes and additional services for eligible individuals under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to solicit proposals from qualified vendors for a complete security camera, access control, networking, and gate automation system for two Connect Transit facilities.
Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, and incidentals required to design, furnish, install, configure, and commission a complete security system. This includes:
1. **Camera Coverage**: Installation of video surveillance covering entrances/exits, common areas, parking lots with a preference for 4K resolution cameras capable of night vision. Continuous recording with a minimum retention of 30 days is required. AI capabilities such as motion-triggered recording and person/vehicle detection are preferred.
2. **Access Control**: Installation of electronic access control systems for 48 doors across various buildings including the administration building and bus maintenance facility. The system must support proximity card access and be configurable for specific hours.
3. **Networking**: Installation of Wi-Fi 7 Access Points and new switching hardware as required by the proposed systems. All cabling must comply with industry standards.
4. **Gate Automation**: Integration with existing sliding gates including intercom systems and license plate readers if applicable.
5. **Visitor Management**: Optional tablet-based visitor management system that integrates with existing security systems.
Period of Performance
The contract term is set for 5 years from the date of award.

The work will be performed at two Connect Transit facilities located at 351 Wylie Drive, Normal, IL.
