Equinix Contract 60 months - Sole Source

Background
The Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) is seeking to award a sole source contract to Equinix for the provision of connectivity services at their facility located at 350 E. Cermak, Chicago, IL. This contract aims to maintain a single co-location point for multiple egress providers, enhancing the performance of the State's network and ensuring cost-effective operations.

DoIT has had a longstanding relationship with Equinix since 2007, with the current contract set to expire on April 30, 2025. The new contract is estimated to begin on May 1, 2025, and will last for five years until April 30, 2030.

Work Details
The contract will involve providing access to multiple egress providers from a single co-location point, which includes services such as:
- 100 GB Internet Exchange Ports
- Cloud Exchange Port
- Fiber Cross Connects
- Cabinets for DoIT Equipment
- AC Power and DC Power
- Smart Hands services for technical assistance
- A secure cage for equipment storage.

This interconnectivity is crucial as it allows DoIT to avoid expensive leased circuits and facilitates direct connections with over 600 network providers co-located at the facility. The total value of the contract will not exceed $2,000,000.

Period of Performance
The estimated period of performance for this contract is from May 1, 2025, to April 30, 2030.

Bidder Requirements
This is a sole source procurement; therefore, no competitive bidding process will be conducted. The justification for this sole source award is based on the unique capabilities of Equinix to provide necessary services that are not available from any other vendor in the Chicago area.
