Emergency Final Cost Statement WSRC- Fire Suppression System Repair

Background
The Department of Natural Resources is issuing this contract for emergency repairs to the Fire Suppression System at the World Shooting Recreational Complex (WRSC). The system was severely damaged due to unusually cold weather, which caused sprinkler pipes to freeze and burst. This situation poses a threat to public health and safety, as the WRSC is a popular site that hosts various events and stores significant amounts of firearm ammunition.

The goal of this contract is to ensure the fire suppression system is restored promptly to prevent further risks.

Work Details
The contractor, Kane Fire Protection, will perform the following tasks:
1) Investigate failed sprinkler pipes through pressure testing and physical inspection;
2) Repair or replace failed sprinkler pipes located at the Ammunition Building, Vendor Mall, Vendor Barns, and Main Event Building;
3) Install protective measures in breezeways and areas where repairs are made to prevent future failures due to freezing weather.

Period of Performance
Expected Start Date: March 5, 2024; Estimated End Date: May 30, 2024.

Place of Performance
World Shooting Recreational Complex, near Sparta, Illinois.

Bidder Requirements
Kane Fire Protection must comply with all Standard Illinois Certifications throughout the contract duration. They are required to maintain insurance coverage including General Commercial Liability and Auto Liability. The vendor must also ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws and provide lien waivers upon request.
