Electric Vehicle Charging Station Design and Installation

Background
The City of Batavia, located in Kane County, Illinois, is seeking bids for the design and installation of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations. This initiative aligns with the city's commitment to enhancing sustainable transportation options and supporting electric vehicle infrastructure within the community.

Work Details
The project involves designing, building, installing, and maintaining four Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations across two locations in Batavia:

- Location 1: 1201 Main Street, Batavia, IL
- Location 2: 300 S Shumway, Batavia, IL

Each location will include:

- Two Level 3 chargers providing a minimum of 300kW per DC Fast Charging port and at least 150kW when charging multiple vehicles simultaneously.
- A minimum of four ports compliant with the Combined Charging System (CCS) standard.
- Chargers must be from either ABB or Alpitronic manufacturers.
- Installation of dusk-to-dawn lighting.
- One parking space that meets ADA requirements (not reserved).
- Appropriate signage and striping.
- Screening around charger electronics and switchgear.

Submittals required include equipment cut sheets, site layout and design, electrical schematics, metering enclosure details, and foundation design.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence upon award and must be completed within a specified timeframe as outlined in the contract documents. The public bid opening is scheduled for May 21st, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at two designated locations in Batavia, Illinois: 1201 Main Street and 300 S Shumway.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide a copy of their I.D.O.T. 'Certificate of Eligibility' demonstrating capability to perform at least 50% of the total contract work. All bidders are required to complete I.D.O.T.'s 'Affidavit of Availability' and include it with their proposal. The successful bidder must furnish a performance bond or letter of credit equal to 110% of the contract amount within fifteen calendar days after contract award.
