DHS SP Ludeman Cold Storage Services FY24-25

Background
The Illinois Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking a qualified vendor to provide storage for frozen and refrigerated food products at a frozen food storage facility. The goal of the contract is to warehouse frozen and refrigerated food items in a cold storage facility for the Elisabeth Ludeman Development Center (Ludeman Center).

Work Details
The vendor is required to provide cold storage services, including receiving, handling, storage, withdrawal, and delivery services for the Ludeman Center. This includes receiving and storing food items from various State vendors, providing storage for all frozen and refrigerated food products at a facility located within sixty (60) miles from the Ludeman Center’s delivery location, withdrawing stored food items and delivering them to the Ludeman Center on a weekly basis, and ensuring expeditious, adequate, and appropriate storage for the goods.

The vendor must also maintain sanitary conditions in the storage space, adhere to USDA certification and approval standards, maintain specific temperatures for frozen and refrigerated food items, allow periodic inspections by Ludeman Center representatives, provide inventory records when requested, perform physical inventory upon request, submit itemized billing of services performed at the end of each week, and comply with transportation and delivery requirements.

Period of Performance
The contract term is from the execution date to 2/28/25.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at a frozen food storage facility located within sixty (60) miles from the Ludeman Center’s delivery location at 114 N. Orchard Drive, Park Forest, Illinois.
