DHS IFB Cold Storage Services - Ludeman Center

Background
The Illinois Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking a qualified vendor to warehouse frozen and refrigerated food items in a cold storage facility. The goal of this contract is to ensure the efficient handling, storage, and delivery of food items for the Elisabeth Ludeman Developmental Center. This aligns with DHS's mission to provide essential services to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Work Details
The contractor will provide the following services:
- Receiving
- Handling
- Storage
- Withdrawal
- Delivery of frozen and refrigerated food items.

The contractor must ensure that all food items are stored in compliance with health and safety regulations. Specific requirements include maintaining appropriate temperature controls, inventory management, and timely delivery schedules to meet the needs of the Ludeman Center.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period of 12 months from the date of award, with options for renewal based on performance and funding availability.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the cold storage facility designated by the Illinois Department of Human Services, located in Illinois.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with the Business Enterprise Program (BEP) and Veterans Business Program (VBP) requirements. This includes submitting a Utilization Plan (U-Plan) that outlines how they will meet BEP/VBP participation goals. Bidders must also demonstrate Good Faith Efforts if they cannot fully meet these goals.
