Delnor Hospital Water Distribution Improvements

Background
The City of Geneva is seeking to improve the water distribution system by installing a new water main near the Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital Health & Fitness Center. This project aims to enhance the water supply infrastructure, ensuring reliable service to the facility and surrounding areas.

Work Details
The project involves the installation of a new 8-inch PVC water main using open cut and horizontal directional drilling methods. Specific tasks include:

- Re-connecting the fitness center’s water service
- Abandoning existing water mains of various sizes in place
- Restoring all damaged concrete, asphalt, and turf
- Completing all other required and incidental items necessary for project completion.

The total length of the installation is approximately 995 feet (0.19 miles). Additional work includes tree protection, root pruning, trench backfill, landscape restoration, and maintaining access to driveways and parking lots during construction.

Period of Performance
The contract period begins with a project start date of July 21, 2025, with substantial completion expected by August 22, 2025, and final completion by September 12, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Northwestern Medicine Delnor Health & Fitness Center located at 296 S Randall Road in Geneva, Kane County, Illinois.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide a 5% bid bond with their proposal. A contract bond for 100% of the awarded contract price will be required upon execution of the contract. Contractors must also maintain liability insurance with coverage of at least $5 million aggregate and comply with prevailing wage laws as mandated by Illinois law.
