Body Removal Services

Background
The Village of Schaumburg, IL is seeking proposals for Body Removal Services through its e-Procurement Portal, OpenGov. Schaumburg is recognized as the largest center of economic development in Illinois outside of Chicago, with a significant daytime population and extensive commercial infrastructure. The goal of this contract is to establish reliable body removal services for the Village's Police Department.

Work Details
The contractor will provide body removal services that include:

1) Licensed funeral director services;
2) 24/7 availability for service calls;
3) Response to service calls within 60 minutes;
4) Two trained personnel per removal team;
5) Properly equipped vehicles for transport;
6) Provision of coroner bags;
7) Compliance with Illinois Administrative Code regarding transportation and disposition of deceased persons;
8) Written proof of services rendered upon completion;
9) No separate charges for consumable supplies; and
10) Prohibition on subcontracting body removal or transport services.

The contractor must also maintain confidentiality regarding all cases handled.

Period of Performance
The initial term of the contract will be three years, starting from the award date, with options for renewal on a yearly basis. The contract may be extended under specific conditions related to performance and funding.
