Barn Structure Demolition

Background
The City of Geneva, Illinois, is seeking qualified vendors to provide demolition services for a barn structure located at 64 N. Peck Road. The goal of this contract is to safely and effectively demolish the barn and associated structures as part of the city's infrastructure management.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the complete demolition and removal of the main barn structure (estimated 60' x 120', two-story timber frame), removal of any silos on the property, and removal of all concrete pads, foundation walls, and footings associated with demolished structures.

Additionally, the contractor must backfill all foundation voids and excavations with clean compactable fill, grade and topsoil all disturbed areas with a minimum of four inches of topsoil, furnish and install temporary construction fencing before and during site activities, ensure all utilities to the barn have been disconnected, and haul all demolition debris from the site for proper disposal in accordance with applicable regulations.

Period of Performance
The anticipated schedule includes RFP issuance on May 1, 2026; proposals due by May 18, 2026; contract approval between June 1-15, 2026; contract issuance on June 22, 2026; demolition beginning on June 23, 2026; and project completion by July 10, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the site located at 64 N. Peck Road, Geneva, Illinois.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide a minimum of three references for similar demolition services performed. They must also demonstrate qualifications including experience in structural and agricultural demolition projects.

A bid bond of 5% is required along with a performance bond of 100% of the project cost. Additionally, contractors must maintain insurance coverage as specified in Appendix A — Insurance Requirements.
