Work Details
The selected broker will be responsible for:
1. Designing, marketing, placing, maintaining, and servicing a general insurance program that may include:
a. Real and Personal Property (including rolling stock such as buses and rail cars),
b. Boiler and Machinery,
c. Directors and Officers Liability,
d. Railroad Protective Liability,
e. Crime Coverage and Bonds,
f. Fiduciary Liability,
g. Electronic Data Processing Insurance,
h. Terrorism coverage;
2. Ongoing consultation regarding CTA's risk management assessments in agreements and contracts;
3. Providing timely responses to inquiries within 48 hours;
4. Maintaining current records of exposures;
5. Conducting coverage analysis of proposed and existing policies;
6. Assisting with claims management consulting services;
7. Issuing Certificates of Insurance as requested;
8. Preparing annual reports on overall insurance status;
9. Providing actuarial services as needed.
Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period of up to five years from the date of award.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed primarily at the Chicago Transit Authority's headquarters located at 567 West Lake Street, Chicago, Illinois.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have a service facility located in Illinois and be licensed as an insurance agent or broker in the state. Proposals must include evidence of at least six years of experience in providing similar insurance brokerage services along with three references from public sector clients or transit agencies.
