25AL2193 Johnson Sauk Trail S.P. - Farm Lease

Background
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) is seeking bids for agricultural farming services on approximately 118.20 acres of state-owned property located within Johnson Sauk Trail State Park. The goal of this contract is to utilize agricultural leases as a tool to support wildlife populations and recreational opportunities while promoting ecologically sound agricultural practices.

Work Details
The awarded vendor will be responsible for farming operations on the leased land, which includes providing all necessary labor, machinery, tools, seed, fertilizer, equipment, and insurance. The lessee must personally farm the lands and cannot sublease or transfer lease rights without prior approval from IDNR. Specific requirements include:

- Guaranteeing lease payment through prepayment or an irrevocable letter of credit.
- Paying all leasehold taxes during the lease term.
- Submitting a Certificate of Liability Insurance within 30 days after contract execution.
- Controlling weeds and pests with prior approval from IDNR.
- Documenting all chemical and fertilizer applications and maintaining records of land use.
- Following specific guidelines regarding tillage practices and crop management to improve soil health and minimize environmental impact.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon signature by the IDNR Director and will terminate on February 28, 2026. The total term of the contract, including any renewals or extensions, shall not exceed ten years.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at Johnson Sauk Trail State Park located at 28616 Sauk Trail Road, Kewanee, Illinois.
