25AL2027 Ten Mile Creek S.F.W.A. - Farm Lease

Background
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) is seeking bids for agricultural farming services on state-owned property located within the Ten Mile Creek State Fish and Wildlife Area. The goal of this contract is to utilize agricultural leases as a tool to support wildlife populations and recreational opportunities while promoting ecologically sound agricultural practices.

Work Details
The contract involves leasing approximately 294.89 acres in 2025, 295.52 acres in 2026, 281.76 acres in 2027, 294.89 acres in 2028, 289.90 acres in 2029, and 36.50 acres in 2030 for agricultural purposes. The lessee must provide all necessary labor, machinery, tools, seed, fertilizer, equipment, and insurance for the farming operation.

Specific requirements include:
1. Guaranteeing lease payment through prepayment or an irrevocable letter of credit.
2. Paying all leasehold taxes during the lease term.
3. Submitting a Certificate of Liability Insurance within specified timeframes.
4. Controlling weeds and pests with prior approval from IDNR.
5. Documenting all chemical and fertilizer applications using provided log forms.
6. Not using neonicotinoid or Dicamba products on the property.
7. Following USDA Conservation Plan Standards for tillage practices.

Period of Performance
The contract will begin on March 1, 2025, or upon signature of the IDNR Director (whichever occurs later) and will terminate on July 31, 2030.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at Ten Mile Creek State Fish and Wildlife Area located at 4283 State Route 14, McLeansboro, IL.
