Plumbing Service Agreement - ORF

Background
The Iowa Department of Corrections – 8th District is issuing a Request for Bids (RFB) for a Plumbing Service Agreement. The purpose of this RFB is to solicit bids from qualified providers to deliver plumbing maintenance and repair services to the Lead Agency and any Participating Agencies.

The contract aims to ensure the proper functioning of plumbing systems within the facilities managed by the agency, which is responsible for corrections in Iowa.

Work Details
The contractor will provide the following services:
- Conduct a walkthrough of the building to visually inspect main water lines and isolation valves for signs of leaks.
- Record water meter usage.
- Perform visual inspections of domestic drain lines.
- Inspect all mechanical rooms and exercise main isolation valves.
- Inspect restrooms and shower rooms, operating all sinks, faucets, and showers.
- Report any conditions and recommendations to the Building Director.

These inspections and services are to be performed on a quarterly basis.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on July 1, 2025, and conclude on June 30, 2026. The agency has the option to renew the contract for up to five annual extensions at its discretion.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Iowa Department of Corrections – 8th District located at 245 Osage Drive, Ottumwa, IA 52501.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must meet specific qualifications as outlined in the RFB process. They are required to read and certify their bids, provide information regarding their business experience, and comply with insurance requirements as specified in the solicitation.
