Description

The City of Ames is accepting bids from qualified firms to conduct inspections for the Parks Maintenance Facility Expansion for the Parks and Recreation Department. All responses must be submitted before the deadline. No late responses will be reviewed. No bidder may withdraw their response for at least sixty (60) days after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids. The City of Ames reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to make such awards as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.

Work Details
The contract requires the following inspection services:
- Field Compaction Testing: 4 visits
- Field Inspection of Proof-Rolling: 2 visits
- Field PCC Paving Strength Tests: 2 visits (Cast one set of five cylinders for each 100 cubic yards of concrete poured during each visit; minimum of one set per visit)
- Foundation Bearing Surfaces: 2 visits
- Steel and Structural Welds: 1 visit
- Wood Framing: 1 visit
- Building Rebar and Concrete Inspection: 2 visits.

Period of Performance
The project is scheduled to start in early September 2025, with inspections to be conducted throughout the construction period.
