Hoover 3rd Floor Dept of Admin Services Renovations

Background
The State of Iowa Department of Administrative Services (DAS) is seeking professional design services for the renovation of approximately 14,335 SF of office space on the 3rd floor of the Hoover Building in Des Moines, IA.

Work Details
The project scope includes demolition, new wall construction, new doors and frames, painting, new flooring, complete electrical, low voltage, fire alarm, and access controls design. It also involves coordination with the owner-provided access controls vendor and furniture layout.
HVAC modifications and sprinkler modifications are also part of the project. The Iowa Communication Network will handle low-voltage wiring. The awarded designer will need to have a background check done prior to working in occupied space due to the sensitivity of information.

Period of Performance
Proposals are due by June 6th, 2024 at 2:00 PM CST. The tentative design kickoff meeting is scheduled for the week of June 24th, 2024.
The project is expected to be completed by January 2025.

Place of Performance
The renovation work will take place at the Hoover Building located at 1305 East Walnut Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50319.
