Background
The FL Smart Middle School Abatement Project is initiated by the Davenport Community School District. It aims to ensure a safe learning environment by addressing asbestos-related hazards in the school facilities. The project focuses on the removal of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) to comply with health and safety regulations.

Work Details
The scope of work includes the removal and disposal of asbestos-containing floor tile and associated mastic from specified rooms:
- 224
- 300
- 300A
- 301
- 303
- 304
- Girls locker room office
- Boys locker room office.

Additionally, it includes the removal of asbestos thermal system insulation from various locations:
- Rooms 102
- Custodial breakroom
- 101 NE exterior storage
- 118B
- 121
- 225 storage
- South hallway storage first floor
- 122/123 custodial closet
- West side 1st floor stairwell.

The Asbestos Abatement Contractor (AAC) is responsible for confirming specific quantities of materials to be abated prior to bid submission. They must also ensure proper disposal of all wastes generated during the abatement process.

Period of Performance
The contract performance period is expected to commence following the award notification and will be detailed in the contract documents. The response deadline for bids is set for November 25, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at FL Smart Middle School located at 1934 W 5th St, Davenport, IA 52802.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be registered with the State of Iowa and possess an Iowa Contractor’s Registration number. They must certify their ability to conduct asbestos abatement as per Iowa Workforce Development regulations. Additionally, bidders are required to conduct criminal background checks on all personnel working on District property and comply with affirmative action policies.
